About

As far back as I can remember, food has been one of my greatest passions. Reading cookbooks, watching my mom can bushels of green beans, asking what’s for dinner, or explaining to my cousin why FROG the steer wasn’t in the pasture anymore…I simply can’t remember a time I haven’t been in love with food.

And so, I want to share this love of cooking, using local ingredients, with you. I really just want to have a place to share the ideas in my head, recipes I’ve tried, and stories of this sometimes crazy life of mine; all while giving thanks to God for His goodness.

I hope you’ll check out my blog and share with me your experiences in the kitchen and in life!  I’d love to hear from you so please leave comments on my posts or email me at thelocalgoodness@yahoo.com.

Come cook with me!

Jessica

  1. Your blog is absolutely stellar. I love it! Locally grown food is so much better for you and the environment (not to mention it tastes better). You are doing an amazing job. Would you mind critiquing my blog and letting me know what it needs? I just started it a few weeks ago, and even though I had another wordpress blog I’m still getting a hang of how the system works. If you have any tips for me, just comment on one of my recipes. Thank you, this means a lot to me.

    • Your words are so sweet and kind! And probably the most encouragement I’ve ever been given concerning my blog. Thank you so much! I am really glad you like my blog. I’d be glad to offer some tips but I’ve taken a quick look and I think it looks great. And so neat that you are a teenage blogger! You should be so proud of yourself. I’ll post a comment on one of your posts by the end of this week.
And thank you so much again for such encouraging words! Jessica

      • You’re welcome. I really appreciate your support. Blogging gives me something to do, and I already cooked and baked, just not just this much. My mom’s really happy that I’m learning how to bake and cook, and is especially proud that I’ve taken the initiative to do it on my own, so I guess I’m proud of myself too. I look forward to your reply. Thank you again! ~Sierra

        • Hi Sierra,

I just emailed you from the email that showed up in my comments area (privy only to me). If you don’t get that email, please let me know.

          Thanks! Jessica
